BUILDING ON EXPERIENCE.

Barn Wood House represents everything we know about constructing a home—and everything we don’t know. The same could be said for every custom home we’ve ever built that has had extraordinary architectural features that are new: we draw from our years of experience and collaboration with our materials suppliers to develop the built solution. In this case, constructing the seamless but functional connections between a mixed use of materials, at the same time satisfying the architect’s original intent.

Notable is Eric Hedlund’s eclectic use of natural wood, stone and steel applied to a modern aesthetic. The walls reveal base molding form clean edges along limestone flooring. Corten steel exterior facia panels meet walnut planked ceilings. The horizontal lines of board-formed concrete walls appear from perfectly clean edges of vertical rustic oak boards.

It’s true to say that we loved building this home just as much as seeing the finished product precisely because our knowledge-base allowed us to innovate new solutions. And that’s one more tool in our tool bag for our next custom home.
