Dave McLoughlin

Dave is a founding partner and President of Guild and together with Liam O’Brien, oversees any number of the company’s projects. Building has been in Dave’s blood for generations, literally. His great grandfather worked in the cooperage at Arthur Guinness, and as a young apprentice, Dave learned carpentry and fine joinery from his father. Continuing the family tradition to this day, Dave brings thoughtful old-world knowledge with advanced skills to every project and construction challenge. English is his first language, but if things get really tricky, he might mix in a Gaelic word or two for good measure. Dave holds several advanced City & Guilds of London diplomas as well as Ireland’s An Roinn Oideachais trade certificates in carpentry and fine joinery.

Liam O’Brien is a partner at Guild Craft Builder in Mountain View, California.

Liam o’brien

Liam is a founding partner and Vice President of Guild, and like Dave McLoughlin, oversees project teams and operations. From foundation to finish work, Liam’s construction knowledge is both detailed and comprehensive. After a four year apprenticeship program and working several years in his home town of Dublin, his custom home experience took him to the Channel Island of Jersey before moving west to settle in California to work on some of the most prestigious custom homes in the Bay Area. There’s little difference between Liam and Dave’s roles at Guild since they both operate at the highest standards of professionalism and craftsmanship — he is adept in communicating with stakeholders, orchestrating teams of skilled crafts people, and managing budgets and schedules that only comes from years of experience. And if you know Liam, he manages to do it all with a smile on his face.
