Close to the Work
/There is no one “finished phase” in construction, but many that happen along the way—with some tasks running concurrently, some starting, and some finishing. For now, we’re in the long phase of millwork and cabinet installations, with different locations at various stages: installing door and entry trim, prepping surfaces, and an onsite painting process designed to achieve a high level of finish. Being among these craftsmen, you can see and feel a quieter concentration—getting closer to the work and focusing on every detail. Masked and working safely through pandemic, heatwave, fire, spray painting, and sand blasting—you could say we’re sweating the details.
Bright lights: Fluted island legs are illuminated with work lights to highlight the imperfections on the surfaces
Unfinished: rosettes on the corners of the kitchen island; crown molding before being prepped for painting
Smooth: painters refine corners and surfaces of the panels and repeat the painting process several times in preparation for a classic brushed finish
Seamless: Final detailing of the stone arch surrounds before the groin ceilings get a first coat of stucco
Focused: more finished detailing of the architectural stone
Sand blasting: the mortared edges between the stone veneer and the limestone get a touch-up
On display: the master installer and his apprentices prep cabinets for installation
