On The Surface

We’re packing in a lot in this edition of Onsite because many things are being worked on at the same time, it’s hard to know where to begin. There’s surface preparation and installation work. On the floors, limestone borders surround the recently installed parquét wood floors. Finely finished arched casings limn the doorways and plaster walls. And outside, one person with a good eye shapes and levels the pool surfaces — a critically important preparation before the installation of an intricate tile design. That said, probably the most dramatic event that has taken place has been the hanging of the twelve-foot high doors at the main entrance. The thermally-broken steel door panels work on a slide-and-hinge system that will open out to the wide portico and steps down to the pool.
