Some time ago we were interviewed and featured in Luxe, a national design and interiors magazine. They asked us what we considered to be our greatest success, and for us the answer was quite simply: our people. Liam O’Brien noting, “Without question, building a strong company of talented people who are committed to exceptional quality”.
Getting there, that is, building a foundation with a strong culture around craft and a commitment to excellence was another thing altogether. Though after decades of experience in construction, we did know one thing, it was always going to be dependent on spending the time to find and recruit the right people. People who would come to work every day ready to contribute and make a difference for the team, and as importantly, the finished product.
More than eleven years on from establishing Guild, there’s a synergy that can be felt when visiting any one of our construction sites, whether in Atherton, Palo Alto, or Monte Sereno. With our team working collaboratively with our partners and subcontractors, you can also sense the satisfaction and pride that comes from building fine homes. So it’s no surprise that the one underrated and unintended consequence to all of this productive spirit: smiling faces, “good mornings”, and even the occasional hug.
